MIA to PortMiami

The short hop that starts your cruise right

8 miles15-20 minutesFixed fare from $89

The run from Miami International Airport to PortMiami is one of the shortest airport-to-ship transfers in the cruise world: roughly 8 miles east along SR-836 (the Dolphin Expressway), through downtown Miami, and across Port Boulevard onto Dodge Island. With normal traffic you are curbside at your terminal 15 to 20 minutes after leaving the airport. During weekday rush hour or on busy embarkation mornings, plan on up to 30 minutes.

Short does not mean simple. PortMiami operates seven major cruise terminals spread around the island: Terminal A for Royal Caribbean on the north side, Terminal B for Norwegian, Terminals C and D for Carnival, Terminals E and F for MSC, and Terminal V for Virgin Voyages at the southeast corner. Each has its own approach road and drop-off lane, and a driver who guesses wrong can add a frustrating loop around the island while porters and security wave you along. Our drivers make this run daily and confirm your ship and terminal before pickup, so you are dropped at the correct luggage curb the first time.

Your quoted fare is fixed at booking and includes the driver meeting you inside MIA arrivals with a name sign, 30 minutes of free waiting (60 minutes on international arrivals), airport parking, tolls, and automatic flight tracking. If your inbound flight is late, the pickup time moves with it at no charge. Most ships begin boarding around 11:00 AM and close check-in about 60 to 90 minutes before sailing, so for a typical 4:00 PM departure we suggest leaving MIA no later than 1:30 PM.

Traveling as a family or group? A Business SUV takes six passengers with six bags, and our Sprinter seats fourteen, which usually works out cheaper per person than two separate rides.
